THE Embassy of Japan in the Philippines has started accepting applications for the 2022 Young Leaders’ Program (YLP)—a year-long academic program launched by the government of Japan, and is also one of the said country’s scholarship initiative.
YLP aims to contribute toward the development of national leaders from various countries by deepening their understanding of Japan, and hopes to help in the professional growth and development of its participants, while enabling them to form strong connections with fellow peers from different countries.
The ideal, according to the embassy, is for these participants to become future leaders and work together in contributing significantly to the economic, social, and political development of their home countries.
Grantees of the program may choose to specialize in one of the following areas: business administration, law, public administration, and local governance. Classes will be conducted primarily in English. The program will commence around September and October 2022. A Master’s degree will be conferred to participants upon successful completion of the program.
To qualify for the program, an applicant must be: (1) a Filipino citizen; (2) a Bachelor’s degree holder, with excellent academic records; (3) highly proficient in English; (4) under 40 years old; and (5) employed, with at least three to five years of work experience.
All YLP applications must be coursed through the specific recommending authorities for each course. Deadline of submissions will depend on each recommending authority. For more information, visit https://ift.tt/xVdLJp1.
